Robotics

The Government of Kenya through Ministry of Education, launched a competence based curriculum aimed at developing skills of students and how to apply them in real life. In order to fulfill the government mandate, SCLP Samaj school through its visionary Board of Governors, introduced Robotics learning in September 2020. The robotics program starts from Year1 to Year 10 and it is included in the school timetable like any other subject.

How Learning Robotics can benefit a student;

Learning robotics enables students to prepare themselves for technological changes that are taking place from day to day. This will equip students with skills in areas like Artificial intelligence and machine learning that seem to be the future of problem solving.

Robotics can enhance students’ creative thinking – Robotics presents students with open ended challenges that will require the student to think critically. In that process, students will develop skills in problem solving through critical thinking to coming up with different ways of solving the same problem.

Enhances concentration – Since students will be involved in hands-on activities, they will tend to concentrate more by coming up with different scenarios on how to solve a certain given task/challenge.

Teamwork – Students are talented differently. When they work together, they can learn skills from each other. This promotes teamwork amongst learners and they learn how to accommodate each other’s ideas and contribution in a team work project.

Robotics as a career

Robotics is one field that most students have not explored as an option they can pursue a career in. one can be a robotic engineer which involve design, build and maintaining of robots.

The Team

The Robotics Program was introduced in our School in September 2020. The Robotics team has been able to train both students and teachers on how robotics is applied in the following fields.

Artificial Intelligence

Animation

Agritech

Space Technology

Bio-Medical

Archeology
